We’re Here to Break the Mental Health Stigma, One Issue at a Time

Helpful Living magazine was born from the mind of Jamie Bess, who worked closely with patients in mental health facilities for years. She recognized the intense need for better mental health resources and was determined to fill that need.

Ever feel like

  • No one takes the time to really listen to the challenges you’re facing

  • You only find vague information out there, and nothing’s specific to your problem

  • Nobody else struggles with the same things you do

Helpful Living magazine was created with you in mind, taking care to help you feel seen and heard, no matter what you’re going through. The pages are filled with expert tips to keep composure when facing trials, personal essays that showcase others overcoming challenges, and interviews that shed light on the people dedicated to helping others.

All this and more has been mindfully curated to bring mental health resources straight to you.

Since those early years, Helpful Living has grown into much more than just a magazine—even bigger than a blog or a podcast. It’s a beacon for anyone suffering and a bright light for mental health awareness.
And we’re here for YOU. You’re not alone on this path.

Being one of the contributing writers for the magazine makes me proud to serve the communities with my knowledge regarding mental health. Helpful Living Magazine is an excellent resource that needs to be in every doctor’s office, hospital, and mental health facility.

I wanted to take a moment to express how much I’ve been enjoying your magazine. It does a wonderful job of highlighting everyday working mental health professionals, offering valuable resources, and sharing ways we can incorporate healing into our own journeys as we help others. The issue I received was both insightful and practical.

The podcast is also a great addition! The topics are so relatable to everyday life, and it’s become a regular part of my routine. Thank you for continuing to provide such meaningful and impactful content.
